For the double bass drummer who wants a pedal with the ideal balance between speed and power, the new Tama HP310LW is most certainly one to watch. As we've come to expect from Tama, this gorgeous twin pedal is of course a high-quality product, and it has a much smoother and lighter feel than, for instance, the Iron Cobra pedals.
Power and speed
Drummers are asking more and more of their pedals, but the two most important demands are always speed and power. However, usually the pedals that focus on speed will perform less admirably in the power department and the reverse is just as true. Pedals that are built to provide powerful attack are usually not particularly fast. With the new Speed Cobra 310 series, Tama has set a new standard for pedals that deliver both a truckload of power and a surprisingly quick and light feel.
Tama Speed Cobra 310 Series
The fact that the Speed Cobra pedals have such a quick response is thanks to a number of new developments, such as the LiteSprocket and the footboard's recessed setting. Thanks to these developments, the angle at which the footboard pulls down on the chain has been greatly improved. The extra long footboard and the angle at which it is mounted let you achieve the desired speed while using much less force. It also reduces the amount of force that is applied to the LiteSprocket, and that in turn reduces resistance. Of course, you can customise virtually every part of the pedal to fit your personal preference.

Heel goed materiaal. Stevig, solide, enorm licht in vergelijking met mijn vorige pedalen. Vlotte krachtoverbrenging via dubbele ketting, makkelijke montage via bijgeleverde instructies! Kan alleen maar vol lof zijn over deze pedalen. Had de Tama speed Cobra enkele pedaal al in mijn assortiment maar ben blij met deze upgrade.
Ik heb zojuist mijn 2e besteld... Een half jaartje geleden heb ik er een besteld voor in de oefenruimte en voor op het podium. Nu heb ik er ook eentje besteld voor thuis.
Ik heb intussen ervaring met Tama, DW, Soho en Pearl. Voor mij is Tama toch het beste! Super degelijk en speelt heerlijk soepel en snel.
Hiervoor speelde ik op de gewone Cobra's, maar uiteindelijk ook eens de longboard geprobeerd. Geeft toch meer controle. Speelt gewoon fijner. Dit zal uiteraard ook een kwestie van smaak en speelstijl zijn, maar ik ben er in ieder geval erg blij mee.
Van een maxtone de overstap gemaakt naar deze 310 serie.
Enorm verschil. Speelt zeer licht en was uit de box klaar voor gebruik.
Wat me wel opvalt is dat de klem voor je basedrum rand een stukje naar rechts zit in plaats van in het midden. Gevolg is dat je pedalen de neiging hebben om enigzins naar links af te buigen doordat de kromming van je basedrum ervoor zorgt dat je klem enigzins de rechter kromming volgt.
Maar dat mag de pret niet drukken!
Snelle pedals voor een mooie prijs.
Ik heb de speed cobra 310 twin pedaal nu een tijdje geleden aangeschaft en hij bevalt uistekend.
Zo'n mooi product voor zo'n prijs, echt top
de werking is heel soepel en dat langer voetbord is ook echt supper.
